Day 2: Chisapani to Nagarkot (2175m) On day two, the trek becomes somewhat easier as you make your way from Chisapani to Nagarkot. The trail continues through picturesque villages and serene farmlands, providing opportunities to experience rural life up close. The highlight of this leg is the stunning sunrise and sunset views over the Himalayas from Nagarkot, including close-up views of Gauri Shanker, Langtang, Dorje Lhakpa, and if you’re lucky, even Mount Everest at 8,848 meters. Day 3: Nagarkot to Changunarayan, then Drive to Kathmandu The final day of your trek involves a descent from Nagarkot to Changunarayan, home to the oldest temple in the Kathmandu Valley, dating back to around 323 AD. A drive back to Kathmandu wraps up this memorable experience, leaving you with plenty of stories to share.

Detail Itinerary

Day 01: Drive to Sundarijal and trek to Chisapani (2165m)

After breakfast at your hotel drive to Sundarijal about 40 minutes, the trek-start-point,. From Sundarijal, the trek begins uphill following a large water pipe coming down from the Sundarijal reservoir. Then you will enter the Shivapuri conservation area controlled by Nepal Army, stop at Mulkharka village for lunch. The trail then passes through a Tamang village called Chisapani. As you approach Chisapani, you can spot great views of Langtang Lirung, Annapurna, Ganesh Himal, Manaslu and Everest. In the evening, witness beautiful sunset view over the mountains. This is about 5 to 6 hours pleasant walk. Overnight at small guest house that serves you hot showers.  Total 13 km on the trek.

Day 02: Trek to Nagarkot (2175m)

After breakfast, start trek leisurely to Nagarkot, the trail is fairly easy as you walk through forest until you reach to Jhule and to Chauki Bhanjyang. The trail then crosses some villages and terraced fields then reaches Kattike Bhanjyang. You will have to ascend up to reach Nagarkot Nagarkot offers great views of Kanchenjunga in the east, Dhaulagiri in the west and Mt, Everest. Early next morning is a fantastic time to view sunrise over the Himalayas. Stay in a nice hotel that serves hot showers. Total 21 km on the trek.

Day 03: Trek to Changunarayan (1540m) drive to Kathmandu

Wake up early to observe the beautiful sunrise over the Himalayas. Then after breakfast, you will hike to the top of Changu Narayan where the trail descends down via Telkot. En-route bird’s eye-view of Bhaktapur and Kathmandu cities can be spotted. The temple of Changu Narayan is built in 323 AD and also a UNESCO World Heritage Site. At Changu, meet your vehicle then drive back to Kathmandu and drop-off at your hotel. Total 10 km on the trek.
