3 Days Poon Hill trek is for those who wish to reach Poonhill with their short stay in Pokhara. The route climbs up from Ghandruk to reach Tadapani and goes fairly easy trail. It is good for those who find walk down from Ghorepani to Nayapul. You can ask us if you prefere walking up than going down.

Poon hill (3200m) is one of the best and popular trek in the vicinity of Pokhara. It is also known as Ghorepani trek. The flora and fauna combining the view of the majestic Himalayan range is so spectacular. You will reach Poon hill the highest point of 3200m which has the view tower to see magneficient Dhaulagiri and Annapurna range. This short trek is a must do activity while you are in Pokhara.

Outline Itinerary:
Day 01: Drive from Pokhara to Kimche (1640 m). Trek to Ghandruk (1940m) – 6 hours walk
Day 02: Trek to Ghorepani (2860) – 7 hours walk
Day 03: Hike to Poon Hill (3210 m), trek to Ulleri, drive to Pokhara 6 hours walk

Detail Itinerary

Day 01: Drive from Pokhara to Kimche (1640 m). Trek to Ghandruk (1940m) - 6 hours walk

We start trek after finishing breakfast at hotel. Drive to Kimche via lovely villages and settlement. Kimche lies just above the Modi River. From Kimche the trail climbs up on nice stone paved steps with winding trails , Ghandruk is a large large Gurung village in this region where you stop for an overnight. You will have a time to explore this lovely fascinating villages.

Day 02: Trek to Ghorepani (2860) - 7 hours walk

Trek start after having breakfast at your lodge. Today would be a long day walk. The trail climbs up until you reach to Tadapani which is a small settlement with good lodges. You can get excellent views of Annapurnas and Machhapuchare which is known as fishtail peak, you descend for a while and climb again to reach lovely Bhanthati that has a gorge, after sometime you then climb towards a hill top at Deurali with super views of Dhaulagiri-Annapurna and Machhapuchare peak. This area is good in spring, it has a thick rhododendron forest and views behind is just majestic. Soon after this you arrive at colorful Ghorepsani for overnight stop after a long walk.

Day 03: Hike to Poon Hill (3210 m), trek to Ulleri, drive to Pokhara 6 hours walk

Wake up early to start short climb to Poon Hill for lovely sunrise views over the Himalayas. Enjoying marvelous time at Poon Hill, descend to Ghorepani for lovely breakfast and then few hours of downhill. walk to reach at Ulleri village. Ulleri is a large village with a mix of Magar and Gurung people. From Ulleri we drive to Pokhara.
