Telkot to Nagarkot Day Hike is undoubtly one of the best short day tour around Kathmandu. Nagarkot is a hill station situated east of Kathmandu lies at an altitude of 2100 meters and only 32 kilometers from Kathmandu city center. Nagarkot is considered as one of the best viewpoint for Himalayan Panorama. A breathtaking view of sunrise and sunset over Himalayan range stretching from Langtang Himal to Mount Everest is a key highlight of Nagarkot hill. 

Nagarkot is not only famous for sunrise and suntset view. If you are willing to explore deeply, Nagarkot provides an authentic experience of village lifestyle, their culture, tradition which are very much untouched by the modern lifestyle of Kathmandu. 

The Telkot to Nagarkot hike is one of the few hiking area around Kathmandu, still offering the best of typical Tamang traditions. The hike from Telkot to Nagarkot starts with a short drive from Kathmandu to Telkot (18 Km) wtaking 1 hour approx. We drive via Bhaktapur, a City of Divine Culture, you will have an option of visiting Bhaktapur Durbar Square as well. 

From Telkot we start our hike with a gradual climb on well maintained stairs. On the way we visit Jalpa Devi Temple. The serene environment of Temple provides a feeling of inner peace and harmony. You can find many temples and statues of various Hindu God and Goddess inside Jalpa Devi Temple premices.

Continue our hike again following the same route gradually but now without stairs. We pass through several Tamang villages, witness the lifestyle and also get a chance to interact with locals. These authentic villages with typical Nepalese houses still holds the beauty of real Nepal. Most of the locals are farmers, such as we can encounter many farmers doing their work on the farms. Approx 2-3 hours of gradual climb will takes us to Nagarkot.
