Travel Update – Trishuli River and Rasuwa Area in Langtang region: A severe and sudden flash flood has occurred along the Trishuli River in Rasuwa, affecting areas from Timure and downstream toward the south. The flooding has caused significant damage to roads, bridges, settlements and other infrastructure along the river corridor, and access in some areas is currently difficult.
We are closely monitoring the situation and checking the condition of travel routes in the affected areas. For guests travelling through Rasuwa or along the Trishuli corridor, we will provide individual updates and make any necessary adjustments to itineraries.
At this stage, the situation is localized to the affected river corridor, and travel in other parts of Nepal is continuing normally.

What happened — Travel Update – flash flood at Trishuli River and Rasuwa Area
- A massive flash flood suddenly came down the Bhotekosh river and mixed in Trishuli River in the morning.
- Around 300 workers were present at the 37 MW Trishuli-3B hydropower project.
- The flood arrived extremely quickly, giving many workers little or no time to escape.
- People initially thought the strong shaking and powerful wind inside the tunnel were caused by an earthquake.
- The flood was so powerful that it destroyed or swept away structures, roads and settlements along the riverbanks.
- Some workers managed to escape to higher ground, while the whereabouts of many others were initially unknown.
- Survivors who reached higher ground reported that electricity and bridges were unavailable, making communication and access to medicines difficult.
- The article describes the damage around the river as extensive, with some settlements reportedly swept away.
