Instead of spending several days trekking from Lukla, you fly by helicopter from Kathmandu directly to Namche Bazaar at 3,440m, the main Sherpa trading centEverest Base Camp and Kalapatthar Treke of the Khumbu. From Namche, the journey continues on foot through Tengboche, Dingboche and Lobuche towards Everest Base Camp.
The highlight comes on Day 05, when you climb to Kalapatthar at 5,545m, one of the finest viewpoints for Mount Everest, before continuing to Everest Base Camp at 5,364m and spending the night at Gorak Shep.
The following day, descend to Pheriche, where a scenic helicopter flight brings you back to Kathmandu.
This itinerary is short, physically demanding and designed for people who are already comfortable with high-altitude trekking.
This trek is best suited to fit and experienced trekkers who have previous high-altitude trekking experience and want to reach Everest Base Camp and Kala Patthar within a very limited timeframe.
The itinerary involves a rapid gain in elevation:
Namche – 3,440m → Dingboche – 4,343m → Lobuche – 4,930m → Kalapatthar – 5,545m
There is no dedicated acclimatization day in this seven-day itinerary. For this reason, we strongly recommend previous experience trekking above 3,500–4,000m.
This is not a technical climbing expedition, but it is a serious high-altitude trek. Previous high-altitude trekking experience is strongly recommended for this itinerary.
If you have never trekked at altitude before, we recommend choosing our longer Everest Base Camp itinerary with dedicated acclimatization days instead.

These months offer clear skies, stable weather, and incredible mountain visibility.
Early morning, take a spectacular helicopter flight from Kathmandu towards the Everest region. As the helicopter approaches the Khumbu, the landscape changes dramatically from green hills and valleys to the towering Himalayan peaks. After landing at Namche Bazaar, settle into your guest house and spend the remainder of the day exploring the famous Sherpa town at a relaxed pace.
Altitude: 3,440m
Flight: approximately 1 hour, depending on flight conditions and routing
Overnight: Guest House in Namche Bazaar
Important: The helicopter flight takes you directly to 3,440m, so you should take the first day slowly and remain alert to any symptoms of altitude sickness.
Begin your trek along one of the most scenic sections of the Everest trail. The route follows the hillside above the Dudh Kosi Valley, offering magnificent views of Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, Ama Dablam and Thamserku. After descending towards Phungithanga, cross the Dudh Kosi and climb through rhododendron and pine forests towards Tengboche.
Tengboche is home to the famous Tengboche Monastery and offers an extraordinary panorama of the Khumbu Himalayas.
Trek distance: approximately 9–10 km
Trek time: approximately 5–6 hours
Altitude: 3,860m
Overnight: Guest House in Tengboche
Descend from Tengboche and cross the Imja Khola before gradually climbing towards Pangboche. The landscape becomes increasingly alpine as you gain altitude. Continue through the Imja Valley with magnificent views of Ama Dablam, Island Peak, Lhotse and other surrounding mountains.
By afternoon, reach Dingboche, one of the major settlements in the upper Khumbu.
Trek distance: approximately 10–11 km
Trek time: approximately 5–6 hours
Altitude: 4,343m

Today the trail climbs higher into the upper Khumbu Valley. Walk through the barren alpine landscape towards Thukla. From Thukla, climb towards the memorial area dedicated to climbers and mountaineers who lost their lives on Everest and other Himalayan peaks.
Beyond the memorials, continue towards Lobuche, where you spend the night surrounded by some of the world's highest mountains.
Trek distance: approximately 8 km
Trek time: approximately 4–5 hours
Altitude: 4,930m
Overnight: Guest House in Lobuche
Today is the most demanding and rewarding day of the trek. Start early from Lobuche and walk towards Gorak Shep. After a short break, continue towards Kala Patthar, climbing to 5,545m.
From Kala Patthar, enjoy spectacular close-up views of Mount Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse, Pumori, Lingtren and the Khumbu Glacier. After descending to Gorak Shep, continue towards Everest Base Camp at 5,364m. Highest altitude: 5,545m
Trek distance: approximately 14–16 km
Trek time: approximately 8–10 hours

This is a very demanding high-altitude day and should not be underestimated.
After breakfast, begin your descent towards Pheriche. Leaving the extreme altitude behind, the trail gradually descends through the Khumbu Valley. The lower altitude provides a welcome relief after the previous day's demanding climb to Kala Patthar and Everest Base Camp. Enjoy the surrounding Himalayan scenery as you descend towards Pheriche.
Trek distance: approximately 12–13 km
Trek time: approximately 5–6 hours
Altitude: 4,371m
Overnight: Guest House in Pheriche
After breakfast, prepare for your scenic helicopter flight from Pheriche back to Kathmandu. The flight offers a spectacular final perspective of the Everest region as you fly over the valleys, glaciers and Himalayan peaks before descending towards Kathmandu.
