All the Buddhist throng to this stupa to take part in the sacred rituals during the Buddhist festivals. There are more than 45 Buddhist monasteries in the area. Many have schools that teach young monks like those pictured here.
Later visit Kopan Monastery just north of the ancient Buddhist town of Boudhanath is the Kopan hill, which rises up out of the terraced fields of the Kathmandu valley and is visible for miles. Dominated by a magnificent bodhi tree, it was once the home of the astrologer to the king of Nepal. This same hill is now the home of Kopan Monastery, a monastery in the Gelug tradition of Tibetan Mahayana Buddhism under the guidance of Lama Zopa Rinpoche. The air is clean and the view across the valley magical. After visit of Kopan. After Kopan you then drive to Dhulikhel a small hilly town from a trade route to Tibet, it is rich in culture and vantage point to see panoramic Himalayan view.

There are several big and small monasteries, and stupas, prayer flags and the inside as well outside design of monastery is amazing. The legend says and many believes over 6000 years back a prince gave his life to save a life of tigress because her five babies were still sucking milk from her. The tigress left nothing but bones, and those bones were brought back in the village and buried, where lies the actual stupa of Namo Buddha. Then after about 3500 years later, Gautam Buddha came to the village and conducted three tours around stupa. He declared that he was the reincarnation of the prince and in the same moment Buddha renamed the village which is henceforth the name of Namo Buddha meaning homage to Buddha. Drive back to Kathmandu visiting Patan and learn further the way of life from different perspective, Buddhism that mix with Hinduism here. After arriving in Lumbini, you will explore Lumbini sacred Garden and visit numerous monasteries. The next two days is going to be even interesting.
Mayadevi Temple is the most sacred site in the Lumbini Garden where archaeologists have identified the exact spot where Lord Buddha was born. Inscriptions on the Ashoka Pillar nearby also refer to the spot as his birthplace. It is said that the newly born Prince Siddhartha (later became the Buddha) took his first seven steps and delivered his peace message to humanity here. Walk around the garden or find a quiet spot to contemplate. The focal point for pilgrims is a sandstone carving depicting the birth of the Buddha, believed to have been left here by the Malla King Ripu Malla, in the 14th century, when Mayadevi was worshipped as an incarnation of a Hindu mother goddess. The Ashoka Pillar was built by the great Indian Emperor Ashoka who became a devout Buddhist while visiting the birthplace of the Buddha back in 249 BC
Spend full day at TILAURAKOT, capital of kapilvastu and the home of King Suddhodhana, father of prince Siddhartha who later went on to become the Buddha. This is believed to be the place where Lord Buddha spent the first 29 years of his princely life. It is 27 KM from Lumbini
When you fly back to Kathmandu, you then drive to Pharping, 21 kilometer south from Kathmandu is sacred site of Yanglesho where Guru Padmasambhava attained level of a Mahamudra Vidyadhara. However more specifically it is referring to two caves in which Guru Rinpoche is said to have meditated.
