Detail Itinerary
Day 01: Upon arrival in Kathmandu, meet & greet at the airport; Drive further for about one and half hours to Nagarkot for the overnight stay. Overnight in resort at Nagarkot.
Upon arrival at Kathmandu airport, you will be greeted by our representative at the airport and then drive to Nagarkot. Nagarkot lies at an elevation of 2175 meters. Nagarkot is a famous hill station in Kathmandu valley known for loveliest sunrise view over the Himalayas. You get to see panoramic views of Himalayas including Mount Everest. Nagarkot also offers a panoramic view of the Kathmandu Valley. Depending upon your arrival – you may see loveliest sunset and short walk around Nagarkot. Stay at one of the finest hotel that gives you bird eye views of Himalayas from your room itself.
Day 02: Sightseeing tour of Chanu Narayan temple and Bhaktapur city. Drive to domestic airport at 1400 hrs to board the flight to Pokhara. Rest day free in Pokhara.Overnight in Pokhara.
Wake up early for beautiful sunrise over the Himalayas. This you may choose to walk to a vantage point from your hotel or just enjoy your time from the room. You hotel can give you a wakeup call if you ask them for a reminder. After breakfast at the hotel, we then start tour of Changunarayan Temple built in 4th century. This double roofed temple is dedicated to Vishnu the Hindu God who is in his incarnation as Narayan and exceptionally beautiful. The temple is fronted by Garuda said to be dated from 5th century. The man-bird mount of Vishnu has a snake around his neck and kneels with folded hands facing the temple. Stone lions guard the wonderfully gilded door, flanked by the equally detailed gilded windows. Next you visit Bhaktapur. Bhaktapur is still on the fringe of medieval age. Known as Bhadgaon, it is famous for making mask. Their mask dance is very impressive. Square around the palace (Durbar Square) has many temples built in pagoda style. Famous are a five storied Nyatapola temple built in 1708 AD and Dattatrya temple built in 1427 AD. The intricately carved peacock window and numerous fountains inside the palace are other attraction. After lunch at Bhaktapur you will be dropped to airport to fly to Pokhara. In Pokhara you stay at lake side surrounded by loveliest restaurant and bars. Enjoy your time on your own.
03: Day From 08 am half day sightseeing tour in Pokhara. Drive to the airport to board the flight to Kathmandu at 1300 hrs. Half day sightseeing in Pashupatinath, Boudhanath
After breakfast start tour of Pokhara. Visit Davis fall, named after a Swiss coupled washed away by the waterfall in 1961. Then cross the road and go to the Gupteshwor cave with a self created statue of Lord shiva and the view of Davis fall coming down from the other side. A 5 minutes walk from the Gupteshwor cave is the Tibetan refugee camp where you can see Tibetan refugees doing different kinds of work for livelihood such as making carpets, making jewelries with semi precious stones and selling things to tourist. After spending some time to understand Tibetan and its political conditions in the area we head towards the Bindabasani temple and the Seti river gorge. After your lunch, you will be transferred to Pokhara airport to fly back to Kathmandu. You then visit tow fascinating and important monuments in Kathmandu. Visit Pashupatinath Temple. Pashupatinath temple is the most important shrine for Hindus in Kathmandu. Although non-Hindus are not allowed inside the temple premises, the cremation that takes place around the Pasupatinath temple area is interesting for foreigners. Listed as a UNESCO world heritage site in 1979 this area has a lot of Sadhus/Hindu holy men who are center of attraction for many foreigners. Make sure you want to pay them if you take their pictures as they ask for money for being photographed. You then visit Boudanath Stupa – a Buddhist shrine. Boudhanath Stupa is one of the oldest monument in Kathmandu valley and one of the first monuments with a written history. One of the biggest pilgrimages for Tibetans the area around this stupa is also known as the little Tibet in Kathmandu. This was listed in the UNESCO’s world heritage site list in 1979 A.D.
Day 04: After breakfast start the full day sightseeing of Kathmandu, Swoyambhunath stupa and Patan city. Drive further to the airport to board the flight to the onward destination.
After breakfast visit Kahmandu Durbar Square is the historic seat of Shah Dynasty. The Durbar Square, with its old temples and places, epitomizes the religious and cultural life of the people. It is here that Kings of Nepal are crowned and their coronations solemnized. Interesting things to seek here are; Taleju Temple built by King MahendraMalla in 1549 A.D., Kal Bhairav, the God of destruction, Nautalle Durbar, Coronation Nasal Chowk, the GaddiBaithak, the statue of King PratapMalla, the Big Bell, Drum and the Jagannath Temple. SwoyambhunathStupa, atop the hillock is one of the holiest Buddhist sites in Nepal. enlisted in the World Heritage Site. SwayambhuStupa watches over the Valley from the top of a hillock on its western side just three kilometers west of the city center. The stupa is one of the holiest Buddhist sites in Nepal and its establishment is linked to the creation of the Kathmandu Valley out of a primordial lake. Swayambhu is also known as Samhengu and is listed as a World Heritage Site. It is also one of the oldest and glorious Buddhist shrines in the world which is said to be two thousand years. The four sides of the stupais painted with the eyes of Lord Buddha and the temple is also known as the watchful eyes of Buddha. You then transfer to airport to fly onward.
