Bardiya National Park is the largest national park in Nepal’s Western Terai, covering an area of 968 sq.km. It was established in 1976 to protect representative ecosystems and the habitat of tiger and prey species. The park was renamed as Bardiya Wildlife Reserve in 1982 and given the status of a National Park in 1988. The buffer zone surrounding the park is managed jointly by the park and local communities. An elephant ride provides a different view of the park, and Karnali river is suitable for Gangetic dolphin.

Bardiya National Park provides excellent home for endangered animals like the rhinoceros, wild elephant, Royal Bengal tiger, swamp deer, black buck, Gharial and marsh mugger crocodiles the park is also famous for Gangetic fresh water dolphin which is near to extinct. Endangered birds includes Bengal florican, lesser florican, silver-eared mesia and Sarus crane, more than 30 different mammals, over 200 different species of birds, with many snakes, reptiles and fish have been recorded within the park forest, grassland and rivers.

Itinerary for Bardiya National Park Jungle Safari

Day 01: Fly to Nepalgunj, drive back to Bardiya. In Bardiya National Park

Fly in the morning to Nepalgunj, and then 2.5 hours’ drive to Bardiya National Park. En route visit crocodile breeding center and possibly see wild elephant grazing at the jungle. Upon arrival at the lodge
you will be given your programs details. After check in, than lunch. After lunch you have Tharu village tour near by the hotel where you will be able to learn about Tharu ethnic people. Dinner- cultural program.

Day 02: Full day in Baridiya National park. In Bardiya National Park

Half Day Jungle Walk. An excellent opportunity to see the wild animals, including small mammals, and birds. We will also wait in a tower (Machan) for elusive wild sightseeing, accompanied by our experienced naturalists and wildlife tracker. Half Day Tiger Tracking and Birdwatching. Great opportunity to see a Royal Bengal Tiger and a great many species of birds found in Bardia National Park. Packed Lunch will be provided. Excellent photographic opportunities are plentiful.

Day 03: Full day Jeep Safari to track tiger. In Bardiya National Park

Full Day tiger-tracking inside Bardiya National Park. We organized packed lunch inodrder to explore this elusive creature. There is an great opportunity to see a Royal Bengal Tiger. We will spend some time at hides by the riverbank, where tigers routinely come to drink or swim. Our naturalist will be on alert for any signs and inform you immediately, for example the sounds of alarming monkeys or birds often warn of the arrival of the so called lord of the forest before it emerges into sight.

Day 04: Drive to Nepalgunj, fly back to Kathmandu

Breakfast in the morning. After sometime, transfer to Nepalgunj, fly to Kathmandu. This package is fully customizable as per your needs and schedule and timings are subject to change as per season. More details hourly programs will be supplied.

04. Flight: Kathmandu/Nepalgunj/Kathmandu
