Discover Bhutan: 7 Days Bhutan Cultural Tour

Bhutan, a kingdom nestled in the Eastern Himalayas, is renowned for its natural beauty, forest conservation, Gross National Happiness, rich culture, heritage, and biodiversity. With 72% of its land covered in forests, Bhutan is one of the most biodiverse places on Earth. This 7-day cultural tour offers an immersive experience into Bhutan’s unique way of life, breathtaking landscapes, and spiritual heritage.

Why Visit Bhutan?

  1. Natural Beauty and Biodiversity: Bhutan’s pristine landscapes range from subtropical plains to alpine mountains. The country’s commitment to forest conservation has preserved its biodiversity, home to rare flora and fauna.
  2. Gross National Happiness: Unlike any other country, Bhutan measures its success by Gross National Happiness (GNH), focusing on the well-being of its citizens rather than economic growth. This philosophy is evident in the nation’s policies and the daily lives of its people.
  3. Rich Culture and Heritage: Bhutanese culture is deeply rooted in Buddhism, and the country is dotted with ancient monasteries, fortresses (dzongs), and sacred sites. The traditional festivals, dances, and music offer a glimpse into Bhutan’s cultural richness.
  4. Taktsang Monastery (Tiger’s Nest): Perched on a cliff 3,000 feet above the Paro Valley, the Taktsang Monastery is one of Bhutan’s most iconic landmarks. Legend has it that Guru Rimpoche flew to the site on the back of a tigress and meditated in a cave for three months. The hike to the monastery is challenging but rewarding, offering stunning views and a sense of spiritual fulfillment.

Bhutan Visa Procedure

To visit Bhutan, tourists need to obtain a visa prior to arrival. Here’s a step-by-step guide:

  1. Book with a Licensed Tour Operator: All tourists must book their travel through a licensed Bhutanese tour operator or an international partner. The tour operator will handle the visa application process.
  2. Submit Required Documents: Provide a scanned copy of your passport (valid for at least six months) to your tour operator, along with passport-sized photos and a completed visa application form.
  3. Pay the Visa Fee and Daily Tariff: Bhutan has a daily tariff that covers accommodation, meals, guide, and transport. The visa fee is typically included in the package tour cost. The daily tariff is USD 250 per person during peak seasons and USD 200 per person during the off-season.
  4. Receive Visa Clearance: Upon approval, the Tourism Council of Bhutan will issue a visa clearance letter. You must present this letter upon arrival at the Paro International Airport to get your visa stamped into your passport.

Best Time to Visit Bhutan

The best time to visit Bhutan is during the spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November) seasons. During these months, the weather is pleasant, and the skies are clear, offering breathtaking views of the Himalayas. Spring is known for its vibrant rhododendron blooms, while autumn is ideal for experiencing Bhutan’s cultural festivals.
