Day 2: Full-Day Sightseeing in Thimphu – Altitude: 2,334m

Explore Thimphu’s major sites, including the Buddha Dordenma Statue, National Memorial Chorten, Folk Heritage Museum, the Institute for Zorig Chusum (Arts and Crafts School), and the vibrant local markets. Experience the harmony between ancient traditions and Bhutan’s emerging modern identity.

Day 3: Drive to Phobjikha Valley (2,900m) via Dochula Pass (3,100m) – Drive Time: 5–6 hrs / 135 km

Ascend to Dochula Pass for Himalayan views and a visit to the 108 memorial chortens. Continue to Phobjikha, a glacial valley surrounded by pine forests, where you’ll visit Gangtey Monastery and enjoy a nature trail walk. Phobjikha is a conservation area and winter home to black-necked cranes.
