Day 02 – Delhi – Old Delhi, New Delhi & Qutub Minar
After breakfast, begin your exploration of Delhi, a city where centuries of history and modern India come together.
Start in Old Delhi, the historic heart of the city. Take a photo stop outside the impressive Red Fort, one of the great symbols of Mughal India. Continue to Jama Masjid, one of India’s largest and most celebrated mosques. Then experience Old Delhi from a different perspective with a traditional rickshaw ride through the narrow lanes and busy markets. The streets are filled with shops, food stalls, traders and everyday life, making this one of the most colourful experiences of the journey. Continue to Rajghat, the peaceful memorial to Mahatma Gandhi. In the afternoon, travel toward New Delhi, where the architecture and atmosphere change dramatically. Drive along the grand avenues past Vijay Chowk, Rashtrapati Bhavan, Parliament House and India Gate. The day concludes at Qutub Minar, the spectacular medieval minaret and one of Delhi’s most important architectural landmarks.
Driving: Approximately 2–3 hours of sightseeing transfers throughout the day, depending on traffic. Overnight: Delhi
Day 03 – Delhi to Agra – Mughal Heritage & Sunset over the Taj Mahal
After breakfast, check out and begin your private road journey to Agra. The drive takes you from India’s modern capital toward the heart of the Mughal heritage region. Drive: Approximately 4–5 hours / around 230 km, depending on traffic and road conditions.
Upon arrival in Agra, check into your hotel and have some time to relax.
Later, visit Itmad-ud-Daulah’s Tomb, often called the Baby Taj. Built largely in white marble and decorated with delicate inlay work, the monument is considered an important architectural predecessor to the Taj Mahal. In the late afternoon, cross the Yamuna River to Mehtab Bagh, the Moonlight Garden. From here you have a beautiful view of the Taj Mahal from across the river, particularly as the changing evening light begins to soften the monument. Return to your hotel after sunset. Overnight: Agra
Day 04 – Agra – Taj Mahal at Sunrise & Agra Fort
Rise early this morning for one of the defining experiences of your Indian journey: a sunrise visit to the Taj Mahal.
As the first light reaches the white marble, the monument changes colour and character. The early morning is also a quieter time to experience this extraordinary symbol of love. After visiting the Taj Mahal, return to the hotel for breakfast and some time to relax. Later in the morning, explore Agra Fort, an enormous red sandstone fortress and palace complex overlooking the Yamuna River. Once the principal residence of the Mughal emperors, the fort contains palaces, courtyards, audience halls and impressive architectural details.
The afternoon is deliberately kept relaxed. You may enjoy time at your hotel or choose an optional local experience, such as a guided walk through Kinari Bazaar, a local food experience, or a visit to an Indian family home. Overnight: Agra
Day 05 – Agra to Jaipur – Fatehpur Sikri, Abhaneri & the Pink City
After breakfast, leave Agra and continue by private vehicle toward Jaipur. Drive to Fatehpur Sikri: Approximately 1–1.5 hours.
Your first stop is Fatehpur Sikri, the remarkably preserved former Mughal capital built by Emperor Akbar in the 16th century. Explore its courtyards, palaces and monumental gateways while learning about the short but fascinating history of this abandoned imperial city.
Continue toward Abhaneri. Drive from Fatehpur Sikri to Abhaneri: Approximately 1.5–2 hours. Here you will visit Chand Baori, one of India’s most spectacular ancient stepwells. Its thousands of precisely arranged steps create an extraordinary geometric pattern and reflect the ingenuity of traditional Indian architecture. Continue to Jaipur. Drive from Abhaneri to Jaipur: Approximately 1.5–2 hours.
Arrive in the Pink City in the late afternoon or evening and check into your hotel. If you wish, the evening can include an optional Rajasthani cultural dinner with traditional music and folk dance. Total road travel: Approximately 4–5 hours, excluding sightseeing stops. Overnight: Jaipur
Day 06 – Jaipur – Forts, Palaces & the Royal Heritage of Rajasthan
After breakfast, begin your full-day exploration of Jaipur. Start with a photo stop at the famous Hawa Mahal, or Palace of Winds. Its distinctive honeycomb-style façade is one of the most recognisable images of Jaipur.
Continue to Amber Fort, located on the hills outside the city. The massive complex combines Rajput and Mughal architectural traditions and contains impressive courtyards, gateways, palaces and richly decorated interiors. Return toward central Jaipur and visit the City Palace, the former royal residence and one of the city’s most important heritage complexes. The palace museums contain royal textiles, weapons, manuscripts and other objects connected with Jaipur’s royal history. Next door is Jantar Mantar, an extraordinary 18th-century astronomical observatory containing enormous stone instruments designed to measure time and track celestial movements. Depending on your interests and available time, the day can also include a short walk through Jaipur’s colourful markets. Driving: Approximately 2–3 hours of sightseeing transfers throughout the day. Overnight: Jaipur
Day 07 – Jaipur to Varanasi – From the Pink City to the Spiritual Heart of India
After breakfast, check out and transfer to Jaipur Airport for your flight to Varanasi. Airport transfer: Approximately 30–60 minutes, depending on hotel location and traffic. Your flight takes you from Rajasthan to Varanasi, one of India’s oldest living cities and one of the most important spiritual centres of Hinduism. Upon arrival, meet your representative and transfer to your hotel.
Airport to hotel: Approximately 45–90 minutes, depending on traffic and the location of your hotel. After some time to rest, head toward the sacred ghats of the River Ganges in the evening. Here you will witness the spectacular Ganga Aarti, an ancient evening ritual performed beside the river. Priests conduct a synchronised ceremony involving lamps, incense, music and prayers while pilgrims and visitors gather along the ghats and on boats on the river. The atmosphere is vibrant, devotional and deeply atmospheric. Return to your hotel after the ceremony. Overnight: Varanasi
Day 08 – Varanasi – Sunrise on the Ganges & Sarnath
Rise early for one of the most memorable experiences of the trip: a sunrise boat ride on the River Ganges. As the sun rises, the ghats gradually come to life. Pilgrims come to the river to pray and perform traditional rituals, while boats move quietly along the water. The changing morning light reveals another side of Varanasi.
After the boat ride, return to your hotel for breakfast. Later, continue with a city exploration including Banaras Hindu University, the New Vishwanath Temple, Durga Temple and Bharat Mata Temple, subject to access and local conditions. In the afternoon, travel to Sarnath, located approximately 10 km from Varanasi.
Drive: Approximately 30–45 minutes each way, depending on traffic. Sarnath is one of the most important Buddhist pilgrimage sites in India. It is traditionally recognised as the place where Gautama Buddha delivered his first sermon after attaining enlightenment. Explore the archaeological area and the important monuments of Sarnath before returning to Varanasi. Driving: Approximately 1.5–2 hours of local transfers, depending on traffic and sightseeing. Overnight: Varanasi
Day 09 – Varanasi to Delhi – Farewell to Varanasi
Enjoy a relaxed morning in Varanasi. This is a good opportunity to take a final walk, enjoy breakfast at the hotel or explore some of the local markets at your own pace. Later, transfer to Varanasi Airport for your flight back to Delhi. Airport transfer: Approximately 45–90 minutes, depending on hotel location and traffic. Upon arrival in Delhi, meet your representative and transfer to your hotel. The remainder of the day is free. You may relax at the hotel, enjoy some final shopping or explore an area of Delhi independently, depending on your flight schedule the following day. Overnight: Delhi
Day 10 – Departure from Delhi – Your Indian Journey Comes to an End
Enjoy your final breakfast at the hotel. Depending on your international flight schedule, you will have some free time before checking out. At the appropriate time, your private vehicle will transfer you to Delhi International Airport for your onward flight.
Your journey through India’s historic cities, royal heritage and sacred landscapes comes to an end, taking with you memories of the Taj Mahal at sunrise, the colours of Rajasthan and the timeless spiritual atmosphere of the Ganges.
