Begin your Amphu Laptsa pass trek with a flight to Tumlingtar and then drive to Num. From Num trek to Seduwa and Makalu Base camp. From Makalu Base camp we then trek to Sherpni high and low camp to reach West Col (6143m) and Baruntse Base camp. After Baruntse we then trek to Pangboche crossing Amphu Laptsa (5850m). We then trek to Namche Bazaar and to Lukla before we fly we fly to Kathmandu.
The Ice Col trek in Nepal crosses three high mountain passes and offers stunning views of Makalu, Kanchenjunga, and Everest. Sherpa crews, kitchen staff, and high altitude porters pave the way, and the ascent is challenging, especially over rocky glaciers. The support camp for the Col is located at approximately 5,700m, with extremely cold temperatures. The trek also involves the use of fixed ropes and climbing steep slopes on the Hunku glacier.

Detail Itinerary
Day 01: Arrive Kathmandu, pickup and transferred to Hotel. In Kathmandu
Upon arrival in Kathmandu, you will be picked up and transfer to hotel. You can take rest from a jet lag or explore thamel and do the window shopping. In Kathmandu
Day 02: Full day guided sightseeing tour of Kathmandu valley. Evening welcome dinner with live Nepalese cultural program.
On this day we organize beautiful sightseeing tour for you taking to you the most fascinating places in Kathmandu like Swyambhunath Stupa, Boudanath Stupa and Bhaktapur city.
Day 03: Fly to Tumlingtar and Drive to Num (1500m) - 3 to 4 hours driving
Fly to Tumlingtar which is 45 minutes. Meet trekking crew and staffs, after a short break for lunch, then start driving to Num via Khadbari (1040m) a busy market and a plateau. Drive along terraced fields and forests until we reach a village Chichila located at the top of the ridge. We overnight in a camp.
Day 04: Trek to Sedua (1540m) - 5/6 hrs walk
The trail today descends steeply from Num through the Cornfield of Lumbang to Arun river at an altitude of 650m. Crossing over suspension bridge and then climb up to the village of Seduwa. This part is particularly rocky; tiny terraces planted with corn and barley. The entry checkpoint for Makalu and Barun national park is located in this village.
Day 05: Trek to Tashigaon (2070m) - 5 hrs walk
After breakfast start trek with a climbing out of the valley through rhododendron and bamboo forest then start traversing te through terraced rice fields to Manigan. Trail from Manigaon contours through the forest and farmland to reach the school entrance to Tashigaon. We will camp on a higher part of the village. Tashigaon is the last settlement, after this we will not see any permanent settlement until we get to Chhukung village in Everest.
Day 06: Trek to Khongma (3560m) - 6 hours walk
A very hard day of the trek as the trail goes up real steep. We walk through the sparse forests along the ridge over a hillock and descend to Khongma at 3560m.
Day 07: Acclimatization day at Khongma (3650m)
Rest day at Khongma after tiresome ascent of 1400m. Side tour / hike can be done for those who feel still energetic, you may walk upto Khongma Hill towards Shipton La, this is useful for you to acclimatize . You get majestic view of Khanchanjunga from this point.
Day 08: Trek to Dobate (3800m) via Shipton La (4125m) - 7 hours walk
We again start today with a steep climb then through less steeply rhododendron forests to the top of the ridge at Shipton La (4216m) followed by descent to Kalo Pokhari. We make a climb to Keke La (4150m), after this final pass we walk down through a beautiful valley of Dobate. You will have superb views of Chamlang (7290 m), peak 6 (6739m) and Peak 7 (6105m).
Day 09: Trek to Yangle Kharka (3700m) - 6 hours walk
The trail descends steep trail with a stream for about 500m. The trail is ill defined, rocky and sloppy mud in places as it leads up the glacial valley. From here you can have a good views of Peak 6. Yangle Kharka is located on a large open grassy plain at an elevation of 3700 m. from here you will have great mountain views. This area also serves some basic tea houses.
Day 10: Trek to Langmale Kharka (4450m) - 7 hours walk
We pass many pastures and herder huts with a number of different names and varying altitude. Since we are trekking on high altitude we slow our rate of ascent to ensure your body has acclimatize. We stop at a grassy land called Langmale Kharka that serves tea shop and camping place.
Day 11: Trek to Makalu Base camp (5000m) - 5 hours walk
Today is a gradual climb to a minor pass about 100m . From here you will have a magnificent south face views of Makalu also you will be able to see the complete panorama of Everest and Lhotse.
Day 12: Acclimatization at Makalu Base camp (5000m)
At Makalu base camp, walk to the slopes on the east side to views of Everest, Lhotse and mighty Makalu from the south. You walk up to 5300m and return.
Day 13: Trek to Sherpani low camp (5200m) also known as Hillary Base camp - 5 hours walk
Trek towards west side of Barun Glacier and continue trek on lateral moraine. The trail is rocky and traverse screed slopes marked by cairns. West ridge of Mt. Makalu, Everest and Lhotse are seen from here spectacularly.
Day 14: Trek to Sherpani High camp (5700m) - 7 hours walk
Continue traversing on a rocky trail to the next side valley and then follow this to Sherpani High camp located on a rocky areas before the glacier. It is a hard day and the trail is pretty challenging.
Day 15: Rest / Extra day at Sherpani High Camp
Full day acclimatization
Day 16: Cross Sherpani Pass (6135m) and West Col (6143m), trek to Baruntse Base camp (5700m) - 7 hours walk
Crew will start early around 1 am to cross sherpani pass and fix the rope, at down the group arrives and start climbing on fixed ropes. On the way up we follow a snowy trail then a short traverse on a rock step before reaching the top of the pass. We use abseiling to reach West Col and abseil down to Hunku glacier. This day is very much demanding. Prepared for it.
Day 17: Rest day at Baruntse Base camp (5700m)
We take a good rest on this spot before we continue towards Amphu Laptsa pass.
Day 18: Trek to High camp before Amphu Laptsa (5500m) - 6 hours walk
The trail descends on moraine to the lower Baruntse Camp then continues over moraine ridges with loose rock to the highest of the Panch Pokhara lakes in the Hongu Valley. Set up high camp before Amphu Laptsa.
Day 19: Cross Amphu Laptsa pass (5850m) and arrive Imja Lake camp (5100m) - 8 hours walk
Start early we take the rocky trail from camp towards Amphu Laptsa pass, after an hour we climb 10m ice step to access the glacier and then follow this to the top of the pass. The view from Amphu Laptsa is fantastic dominated by Baruntse and the West Col is clearly seen. We have to depend on abseils several times before we get onto the rocky trail that leads towards camp located next to Imja lake.
Day 20: Rest day at Imja Lake

Day 21: Trek to Pangboche (3875m) - 7 hours walk
After several challenging days finally we pass through Chhukhung valley (4730m that lies directly under an incredible rock wall that links Nuptse with Lhotse. From here you will also have magnificent views of Amadablam (6856m), we continue trek towards Pangboche and stay in a tea house / lodge.
Day 22: Trek to Namche Bazaar (3440m) - 7 hours walk.
Quick visit of Tengboche Monastery enroute to Namche Bazaar, the trail descends to the right flank of the Dudh Kosi river and then leads to the large Sherpa settlement and then ascends to the Namche Bazar.
Day 23: Trek to Lukla (2840m) 6 hours walk
Continue ascend to the small mountain airstrip at Lukla to catch your return flight to Kathmandu. Weather permitting your trekking crew might prepare a farewell treat for you. You would be expected to join in the singing and the dancing!
Day 24: Fly to Kathmandu. Transfer to Hotel.
Early breakfast and then transfer to lukla airport to fly to Kathmandu. Upon arrival at Kathmandu you will be transferred to your Hotel. Rest and explore Kathmandu own.
Day 25: Free day in Kathmandu. Own activities

Day 26: Depart Kathmandu
