Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu. Pick up and transfer to Hotel. In Kathmandu

Day 02: Drive to Dhunche (1950m) - 6 hours drive. O/N Guesthouse.

  • In the morning after breakfast, drive to Dhunche (114 km) - 6 hours drive. Stop at Trishuli Bazaar for lunch. The road is pretty much adventurous. The Drive is very much scenic when you leave Kathmandu and follow the Trishuli River from Betrawati. There are a couple of check points before you reach to Dhunche.

Day 03: Trekking to Singh Gompa (3250m) - 5 hours walk. O/N Guesthouse.

  • From Dhunche follow the road to the first switch back. The trail follows the north side of the river for a short while, then begins the steep climb towards the ride. You trek through a forest of firs and rhododendrons for about two to and then you reach tea house from where you can see the valley you left. The trail continue to climb to the ride and a trail junction. Continue trek until you reach an army check point and reach Sing Gompa on the top of the ridge. Sing Gompa is the main attraction at Chandan Bari, elevation 3250m. This village has a cheese factory. The Gompa, small monastery which houses a statue of Green Tara will be allowed to be seen by visitor with small fee. The hillside near Chandan Bari is bare and scorched through a combination of logging, fire and wind storms.

Day 04: Trek to holy lake Gosainkund (4100m) - 5 hours walk. O/N Guesthouse.

  • The first part of the trail emerges gently ascent up to Lauribinayak. Then, the trail steeply ascends all the way to Gosaikunda. You follow a rugged trail with dramatic views; to the west Himal Chuli (7893m) Manaslu range (8156mm), Ganesh Himal range (7406m), Tibetan peaks and Langtang Lirung. On a clear day, even the Annapurna range can be seen rising up behind and to the north across the valley is Langtang Lirung. You pass a few huts in the high pasture of Laurebinayak, cross a small ridge and have your first views of the holy lakes. There are about a dozen lakes in the Gosainkunda Basin, the main three being Saraswatikunda, Bhairabkunda, and Gosainkunda. According to legend, Gosainkunda lake was created by Shiva when he pierced a glacier with his trident to obtain water to quench his thirst after having swallowed a poison that threatened to destroy the world. Stay overnight at lodge.

Day 05: Full day exploration of Kund holy bath and Puja O/N Guesthouse.

  • Gosainkunda lake has a black rock in the middle, said to be the head of Shiva. There is a legend about a white rock under the water that is the remnants of an ancient shrine of Shiva. According to the legend, Shiva himself created this high altitude lake, when he pierced a glacier with his trident to obtain water to quench his thirst after consuming some poison. It is also said that the water from this lake disappears underground via a subterranean channel and surfaces in Kumbeshwar pool, next to the five story Shiva Temple in Patan. Visit other lakes too.

Day 06: Trek back to Singh Gompa O/N Guesthouse.

  • Retrace trail back to Sing Gompa.

Day 07: Trek from Sing Gompa to Dhunche – 6 hours walk

  • The first parts of the trails descend through pine, silver oak and rhododendrons forests with marijuana plants up to you cross suspension bridge over the Sing Gompa Stream. Now, the path stretches across a flat level. Stay overnight at lodge.

Day 08: Drive to Kathmandu . Overnight at Hotel.

  • Dhunche to Kathmandu by bus. It takes about seven hours. It is a pleasant drive back to Kathmandu.

Day 09: Full day sightseeing - Bouddhanath, Pashupatinath and Bhaktapur city - overnight at hotel.

  • After breakfast at hotel, commence fabulous city tour. First visit to Bodanath Stupa. Boudhanath Stupa is one of the oldest monument in Kathmandu valley and one of the first monuments with a written history. One of the biggest pilgrimages for Tibetans the area around this stupa is also known as the little Tibet in Kathmandu. This was listed in the UNESCO’s world heritage site list in 1979 A.D. Next would be Pashupatinath temple, it is the most important shrine for Hindus in Kathmandu and the whole world. Although non-Hindus are not allowed inside the temple premises, the cremation that takes place around the Pasupatinath temple area is interesting for travelers. Listed as a UNESCO world heritage site in 1979 this area has a lot of Sadhus/Hindu holy men who are center of attraction for many travelers. Finally Bhaktapur locally known as Bhadgaun by driving toward the eastern side of the Kathmandu valley about 15 km to reach Bhaktapur, the city of devotees. Bhaktapur Durbar Square- Bhaktapur is one of the 3 ancient kingdoms in the Kathmandu valley. Situated about 15 kilometers from the city of Kathmandu, Bhaktapur is the most well-preserved heritage site of Nepal. The 55 windows palace, the Nyatapol, 5 storied temple also the tallest pagoda style temple, the Royal Bath, Pottery square and Dattatreya temple are the major attraction in Bhaktapur.

Day 10: Drive to airport and fly to your onward Destination.
